Often described as “larger than life,” automotive industry legend Carroll Shelby has enjoyed unsurpassed success as a racecar driver, team manager and team owner, as well as an innovative automobile designer and the creator and manufacturer of the legendary “Cobra” cars.

Prior to his famed automotive career, Shelby enlisted in the US Army Air Corps, serving in World War II as a flight instructor and test pilot. After this, he worked tirelessly as a chicken farmer and it was during this time that he was invited to participate in an amateur race by a friend.
